Humphries Archery

Nestled into the historic American Fork Main Street, Humphries Archery is a hub for bow hunting enthusiasts.  We just went for a little fun.

Although main floor was under construction, the top floor brandishes a colorful and packed array of hunting gear sure to attract even the most seasoned hunter.  But I don’t understand that stuff, so after browsing for a minute, I just meandered downstairs with the rest of our Varsity team.

They have remodeled the basement as an archery range, and a young but experienced trainer took our group through basic bow safety and instructed us on how to shoot.  He even let us make mini arrow pens, complete with real arrow parts, for keeps!

Now, I haven’t shot a bow and arrow since I sent my brand-new Arrow of Light arrow out into a snow-covered field.  That tragic event heralded the end of my shooting.  But here in this controlled environment I was able to get some good coaching, and by night’s end I was hitting the bulls-eye with all 6 arrows!

The boys reacted well to the training and were safe, but also had a lot of fun.  We had shooting contests, and practiced shooting left-handed too.

I believe it came out to about $7 per boy, and the leaders were free, for over an hour of shooting.  Worth the trip if you think you might be interested in archery.
