How it began?
UtahOutings.com sprang from my desire to eliminate the indecision around the common question of “What do you want to do?”. Weeknights and weekends often afford families blocks of time together. My family spent a large amount of this time trying to decide what we could do. UtahOutings hopes to provide families with numerous free or inexpensive activities. I hope you find the site useful, be sure to check back often to find new free or cheap activites for your family.

KSL.com offers a free map to 2008 Holiday Light Displays around the valley. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=523&sid=2235126
Christmas Street is a great tradition for a family with young children who want to stay in the car and still enjoy seeing the lights.

We just visited the Holdman lights again last night. The show is truly amazing! Be sure to tune your radio to FM 99.9 for the broadcast. Also remember any donations go to the Make a Wish foundation for kids.
I agree, the Holdman lights are amazing. The closer we get to Christmas the more crowded the street will get, be sure to go early.
The Holdman light display is great. It seems to cycle through a 10-15 min song and light show. My family and I loved it. It makes our little display at home look weak, but thats ok. I look forward to next years.
If you have satellite or cable be sure to tune into TNT on Christmas Eve for the “A Christmas Story” marathon.
Please note open fires were allowed, as long as they were in the above ground fire pits. The pits were a little damp, however fires could be quickly created.
HI THERE, I AM ALSO A SCOUTMASTER LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO TAKE THE BOYS IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. WAS THIS AREA CROWDED,AND CAN WE GET A SMALL SCOUT TRAILOR IN. THANKS
Hello Kelly,
We went on a Friday night and were the only people in the whole site. I would assume not many folks like to camp in the snow. The roads were cleared the 5 miles up diamond road, however they were not clear heading down into the camp site. With that said my little 2 wheel driver car did just fine. I would see no problems getting a small trailer in and out. Hope this helps!
